William Coleman (USA) – May 2018

We had been to the Romanos area of the Southern Peloponnese before and were delighted to find this house on Third Home. As usual there was some worry about whether our assessment of the property would be accurate. Well this place completely exceeded our expectations! The villa is an architectural masterpiece sited on a hill overlooking the sea and mountains, and completely surrounded by an olive orchard. Every detail of the house was perfect and it was set up almost like a hotel with a large service area in the basement with a second (commercial) kitchen and every possible support function. We paid for the magnificent pool to be heated and were in it every day. The patio is huge and a great place to read or eat or just look at the amazing view.. Nearby are countless famous archeological sites and plenty of good restaurants. Nearby you can sail or dive in the Ionian Sea. And to top it all off there is Stella who manages the property expertly and tenderly. You will not find on a better property on Third Home.

Janine Price (UK) - April 2018

This house is simply stunning - luxurious but understated, modern but perfectly in tune with it’s surroundings with everything that you might possibly need. There are four large beautiful en-suite bedrooms with a stunning open plan kitchen, sitting room and dining area all opening onto the pool, plus there’s extra accommodation for staff downstairs too. I arrived exhausted but within two days I felt rested, relaxed and rejuvenated - retreat is the right word. The house is very privately situated down a lane set amongst an olive grove with lots of Mediterranean planting close to the house - the scent of herbs and jasmine fills the air. It is the sort of place that you really do not need to leave but there is lots to see and do locally: stunning beaches, pretty towns, ancient ruins and Venetian castles all within half an hour. The whole area is unspoilt and tourism low key. Stella the house manager is at the end of the phone if you need her and couldn’t be more helpful. I loved it so much that we’re going back next year ..... Thank you for a wonderful week.

We visited the Olive Retreat mid May with 2 other couples. What an amazing place! We really enjoyed having our cocktails by the pool during the sunset, made by the executive chef of the villa. The rooms are spacious with extremely comfortable beds and we also had fun cooking in the kitchen and enjoying the sea views at the same time. The villa manager Isabella made sure we got the best tee times for palying golf, has booked for us restaurant to have our lunch and all we asked for.She was here for us for anything we asked for. We recommend you do a wine tasting and also sea kayak lessons, just ask Isabella! We really felt like home and we definitely be back again and again!!!

Meni K. (AUSTRIA) - July 2018

An amazing Villa combining luxury and comfort with greek hospitality in an enchanting Location, offering absolute privacy and amazing views! The famous Romanos beach is just a couple of minutes drive from the Villa but we also enjoyed just staying in, taking a swim in the pool or dining on the terrace while taking in the breathtaking scenery... We absolutely loved each Moment of our stay there and will surely visit again!

Beverley S. (UK) - August 2018

Close proximity to Costa Navarino Golf perfect for my family with 4 keen golfers. Our host helped with all the arrangements plus water sport suggestions for my boys. Our chef Maria was outstanding, producing high quality meals which stopped us from venturing from the villa very often! Villas peaceful olive grove location with fantastic views of the surrounding hills and bays was fantastic. The facilities are second to none. To be honest I couldn't fault anything and wouldn't hesitate returning. Stella thanks to you as our host, you made the stay very special.

Jon and Brenda O'Sullivan (IRELAND) - October 2018

Prior to arrival communication was handled by Stella who proved to be invaluable when getting detail on the locality and extremely responsive to any requests. Stella and her team were in and out of the house providing us with a level of unobtrusive service rarely found elsewhere. Stella is a Diamond... The pictures of the house are impressive but nothing prepares you for the location, design, build quality and presentation of this home. The owners have spared no expense in fitting out their home and it really could be "No 1 Third Home". We will watch this property and snap up any availability in a heartbeat. A self build Holiday home is a special investment and your own is always going to be hard to beat but The Olive Retreat is very very special. The time and effort that has been invested here shows. We loved it, favourite house ever! The area is stunning, unspoilt yet with many really nice relaxed Restaurants to spend warm evenings relaxing. Catching a coffee under a tree in the square in Pylos while watching the fishermen selling their catch is a simple yet rare unique pleasure. The many sites of archeological interest rival any others in Greece and importantly are within easy reach. The tranquility and friendliness of people found here is such a change from the more developed areas around Europe we are more familiar with. Our Hosts Guy and Catherine were over the top in their generosity and a perfect welcome pack greeted us on arrival. Golf bookings during our stay were hard to secure but with the help of Stella and Guy we secured the tee times we wanted. Guy invited us to play with him and also introduced us to his friends who were most inclusive and a pleasure to meet. The Bar has now been set so high for the rest of us members it is hard to see how we could possibly surpass this location, house or the level of Hospitality extended to us by Guy, Catherine, Stella and Team. Thank you all...

This spectacular property is impeccably maintained and thoughtfully equipped. Located in a beautiful and quiet setting, surrounded by olive trees, its easy to relax, settle in and enjoy the super comfortable home. The property manager, Stella, graciously met us upon our arrival and continued to offer her outstanding support throughout the week. We were all so very impressed by The Olive Retreat -- would love to return.

Victor F. (SPAIN) - March 2019

We are a group of 7 seniors from Spain. We stayed at Olive retreat for a week and we do not have enough words to say how amazing it was. The villa lay out is really nice with 4 spacious en suite bedrooms and a large living room. The pool even it was beginning of April it was a plus for a refreshing bath after walking on the paths of the millennial Olive trees and Orange trees that this magnificent Villa has. It even has a really nice kids tree house. Next time we go we will take our grand daughters!! Stella received us with a very warm welcome she gave us lots of information of places to see and things to do. Even before arriving she was very diligent with all the communications. We travel a lot all over the world and we like high quality villas but The Olive retreat was above them all. Thanks again for this amazing week. We will come back in the future!!

PeterHChaplin (UK) - September 2019

The Olive Retreat is a beautiful, luxurious villa in a delightful, fascinating and unspoiled part of Greece. It is convemiently located, some 40 minutes from Kalamata airport, in a wonderfully quiet area with spectacular views from its bedrooms and terraces. We were a group of seven, single adults and we had such a briilliant time the week lierally shot by. We could easily have spent a second week without running out of things to do. We managed to visit, in the mornings (after a delicious breakfast served by the wonderful Stella), four castles in four days (Methoni, Koroni and two at Pylos) as well as Ancient Messene (which is fantastically well worth seeing and still relatively 'undiscovered'). We would then reward ourselves with a lunch overlooking some of the beautiful local beaches or harbours and unwind with some wonderful beach time in the afternoons. We would then return to the delightful villa for drinks, followed by dinner, on the pool terrace. We made a very good decison to include a chef in the rate, the fabulous Maria, who provided us with the most delicious dinners each evening - including some excellent freshly caught fish dishes. Nothing was too much trouble for Stella - who, apart from providing a superb service in the villa - was extremely kind and helpful in giving us pointers regarding our plans each day. Although we were there in the last week of September, the weather stayed in the mid to high 20's throughout. In short, my friends and I cannot recommend The Olive Retreat too highly and cannot wait to return!

Gaddis & Susan Wittjen (USA) - December 2019

The Peloponnese is a beautiful part of Greece with bountiful olive trees, awe-inspiring historical sites, blue coastal water and friendly people. Sitting on a hill above all this with amazing views is The Olive Retreat. Before we arrived in Greece, we had already had several welcoming emails from the caretaker Stella who clearly wanted to help us plan a remarkable trip. She gave us perfect and detailed directions to the house and met us there to show us around. As we drove up the olive tree lined private driveway, the stunning home comes into view. It is an architectural beauty. It is open and airy on the first floor with a kitchen that met all of our needs. There are two bedrooms on the first floor and two on the second floor, each with an ensuite bathroom and patio. All of the four bedrooms have amazing views, especially nice for watching both sunrise and sunset. While the house is perfectly beautiful, it was also comfortable and provided us a wonderful place to relax after sightseeing all day as well as a lovely place just to sit and read. We cannot say enough about how much Stella helped make our vacation such a memorable one. Her knowledge of the house as well as the surrounding countryside provided us with enough information so that we could find the most amazing castles, ruins, museums, olive-pressing facility, stores, and restaurants. She did all of this with such professionalism, friendliness and expertise. She was always available to assist us and responded quickly whenever we called her. We would love to return to The Olive Retreat one day.

Boehlke T. (USA) - January 2020

We spent a week with our adult children and were just wowed. It’s a great house for a big family or four four or five adult couples. Well designed for togetherness or privacy. The house is unique and beautiful. Every need has been considered. You could easily spend the week just enjoying the house, the view, the property. But it’s a great area with many day trips to interesting historical sites. There’s so much we didn’t even have time to get to all of them. And every day trip drive is beautiful with fairly easy driving. As others have noted, Stella the house manager is indeed a star.
